About Me
Choosing Your Kent & London Wedding Photographer
Pretty big decision this one! There are so many styles and even more personalities for you to plough though to get the absolute perfect Wedding Photographer for your WEDDING DAY.
There is a photographer out there for everyone, however not every photographer will suit every couple. Doing your research and chatting with your prospective Wedding Photographer is a must, this is one you do not want to get wrong.
So, with myself in mind, if you are on the hunt for a Wedding Photographer who will plan and structure your day around them, be of a moody disposition, who will prod, pock and bend you into strange uncomfortable poses and loves spending hours doing group shots, then I am probably not the Photographer for you.
If, however, you want to have your day captured in a cool, edgy and creative way whilst you have have an absolute rocking time enjoying the day with loved ones, chomping amazing food listening to some tunes and knocking back a shot or two then the next thing to do is click the button below and tell me about your plans.
A Little About Me
Because you must love your wedding photographer!
Do you want to know about me? Of course you do…..I will be spending more time with on your wedding day than your guests will be hahaha!!
An original south Londoner, I grew up with central London on my doorstep, spending bundles of time around Dulwich, Camden, Peckham, the city, Clapham and Whitechapel certainly help to build my love of street photography and the exploration involved in photographing people and moments. My own personal photographic story began at the age of 5 when I happened across my dads Olympus OM-30 film camera, my eyes widened! Call it fate, destiny or some odd genetical trait, I instantly loved and understood the feel and workings of a camera, the ability to capture moments in peoples lives and the whole process of image taking.
Despite my early use of Olympus camera systems I am very much a Canon man, I have been since 1998 when my dad took me to our local independent camera shop (unfortunately not too many of those around nowadays) where he bought me a Canon Eos 3000, the camera that would see me through college, would shoot my first ever wedding with (at the venue that I would end up getting married in some 13 years later) and would be the camera I was using at the time I adopted my natural documentary style of shooting that still excites me today.
“I love to capture hugs, unexpected moment, funny moments, the moments between moments and people living their best lives. Telling the story of your day with all the tears, laughs and jokes, smiles, warmth, enjoyment and the odd funny face lol.”
Getting Personal
Things I love
First and foremost my wife Sarah, my girl from Bermondsey. she is my rock, my inspiration, my drive, my best friend and everything else in between. Together we live just two minutes from the beach where we enjoy long walks and pub lunches, fishing, and trips to Norfolk to spend time with family.
We equally love regular trips to the Lake District, Snowdonia and Scotland, camping weekends, Cruising round Europe and time spent in OUR VERY AMAZING garden.
We are currently based in Rochester Kent, in a beautiful little village. We moved here in 2020 (yes, during Covid) into what we are hoping will be our forever home and of course the permanent base of Chris Blackledge Photography, complete with studio which will be available for use very soon.
I love coffee, tattoos, Christmas, craft beers, football and playing guitar.
I am openly proud of my level of geek-ness, free time for me is chilling in front of a Marvel movie or Netflix series, their documentaries really are the best! If you haven’t already, you really need to watch “don’t f**k with cats”. there is a question that I get asked all the time so I am going to answer it right here RIGHT now (to quote Fat Boy Slim)……my all time favourite Marvel movie is Thor Ragnorok, I love the bright colours and retro vibes. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.1 will be a very close second!
I am a lover of all things 90’s, the movies, the tunes, the styles, the sitcoms and TV dramas. I mean, everything was at its best, Reebok Classics and Mizuno jumpers, Britpop, Oasis, Radiohead, Tarantino, Red Dwarf, Men Behaving Badly, Prime Suspect and Cracker! Shawshank, Pulp Fiction, Private Ryan, Silence of the Lambs, Matrix! OMG I could go on…….but I won’t.
So that’s me in a nutshell, raised in London, settled in Kent, a child of the 80s who grew up in the 90s, a camera nerd since birth and a lover of movies, tunes, coffee, camping and tattoos……how about you? Something I love about what I do is being able to meet so many different people, so many personalities and backgrounds, people with completely different loves and tastes to my own, interests and careers, pets and families. I would love to know about you and your day.
Please get in touch, let me know a little about you, and request your brochure. I look forward to hearing from you.
