Frequently Asked Questions
You may very well have a million a one questions that you want to have answered before you commit to booking your wedding photographer. I can’t write a page long enough to answer a million and one, but I can shed some light on some of the most important and most frequently asked questions.
Do you require a deposit to secure our date?
Yes indeed. Upon booking a £400 deposit is to be paid and your date is safely secured!
Do you offer discounts for mid-week or out of season weddings?
Absolutely. If your chosen wedding date is on a Monday - Thursday, or is between November - March you will benefit from a 10% discount off of the prices listed in my brochure.
Can we meet you prior to booking?
Of course!! I want you to meet me, and more than that, I want to meet you. Meeting your wedding photographer prior to booking them to capture your day is an absolute must, whether that be at your home, in a coffee shop or over a Skype call. Imagine having someone at your wedding who has the sole responsibility of capturing the fun, laughter and emotion of the day without knowing who they are and how they compose themselves… that’s a worrying thought isn’t it!
Are you insured?
Of course I am, fully and completely covered for both public liability and indemnity. I am a small business after all, I would be very silly not to be.
How many hours coverage do we get with the Full Day Package?
Unlimited! I don’t like to put pressure on you to plan your entire day around me by limiting the amount of hours I stay at a wedding. Every wedding is different from another, so by saying that 8, 10 or even 12 hours is enough is quite simply pure guess work. Therefore I start shooting at a point in the morning to suit you and stay on into the evening to capture some dance floor shenanigans.
How long before we get our pictures?
4-5 weeks! (maybe even a little quicker depending on the time of year).
Will the files be watermarked?
No, no, no. All the image files you receive are yours to print from and share as you wish. You asked me to photograph your wedding day, as far as I’m concerned they are your photos.
How many hours coverage are included in the package?
As many as need be. My package gives you coverage from bridal prep in the morning through to the evening party (dressing through to dancing) regardless of how many hours that may be. Accept of course if you go for my Half Day Package, in which case you get 5 - 6 hours.
Do you do ‘Group Shots’?
Of course I do. As a documentary wedding photographer group or formal shots aren’t a massive part of my wedding photography style so I always recommend keeping these shots to a minimum. Not only due to my documentary style, but also so we can keep your wedding day flowing as freely as you have planned it.
Do I need to order an album right away?
The simple answer is no. You can order an album with me at any point, even after the wedding day! However, if you are interested in adding an album to your package it maybe worth your while booking from the start. We can discuss this fully when we speak.
What do I wear to the pre-wed/engagement shoot?
One of the most frequently asked questions, ha ha. Your pre-wed shoot is an opportunity to get some cool and funky photos of you looking a little more like you. Dress comfortably, dress appropriately to where your shoot is. Dress for a stroll in the park or an afternoon in your local.
How does payment work?
The price of your package is broken down into two payments, a £400 deposit and then the remaining balance. The deposit is payable at the time of booking, the balance then isn’t due until four weeks before the day.
What is the weather isn’t great?
This is where your choice of wedding photographer is important. We all need to remember that we do live in England and every now and again the weather does play an unwanted part in a persons wedding day. In this case we may need to make slight adjustments to when we get outside for those all important bride and groom portraits or it may mean that we will just have to step up our imagination and creativity to capture something a little different but ultimately still as awesome as hell!
What happens if I am ill or unable to make the day?
Firstly let me point out that I have never (in 8 years of working as a wedding photographer) missed someones wedding day. It has never happened and I plan for it to never happen at all ever. That being said I am sure that at some point in my life Illness, or other un-foreseen factors may come into play which we have no control over. Should that circumstance arise another totally awesome wedding tog will most definitely be available to step into my shoes.
Will my wedding photos be totally awesome?
Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes!!
