There’s something magical about blending cultures in a wedding celebration, and Adam and Glenny’s stunning Turkish-infused wedding at The Old Kent Barn in Kent was no exception. With a rich mix of tradition, elegance, and high-energy entertainment, this day was a dream to capture as a wedding photographer.
The Old Kent Barn, with its rustic charm and picturesque gardens, provided the perfect backdrop for this stylish celebration. The couple’s vision combined 007 James Bond-esq style with vibrant Turkish traditions, creating a wedding that was both stylish as hell and as exhilarating as I have ever seen.
Guests were treated to an authentic Turkish banquet, a feast of rich flavors and aromatic dishes…..a lot of them haha. This made for one extremely happy yet very full wedding photographer. Moving around to capture speeches took a lot more effort than usual lol. I even had to pass on the Baclava.
One of the most exhilarating moments of the evening was the Testi dance, a dramatic and symbolic Turkish tradition where a clay pot filled with surprises is smashed as part of the celebration. This moment was elevated by the electrifying atmosphere of money guns shooting crisp notes into the air, adding a modern and playful touch to the tradition. Guests cheered, music pulsed, and the dance floor erupted in energy—an unforgettable highlight of the night.
The late Winter sun provided the most breathtaking light for some awesome, fun loving couple portraits. Despite their insistence that they weren’t too comfortable with “all that posy shit”, I think you’d agree that they pretty much smashed it out the park!
From heartfelt speeches to some rocking dance floor action, this wedding was a true celebration. As a wedding photographer, capturing such a unique and vibrant day was an absolute joy. The Old Kent Barn proved to be the perfect setting for this unforgettable day, proving once again that blending cultures makes for the most spectacular weddings.
