So, I thought I would take an opportunity to put a bit of a spotlight on one of my absolute favourite locations for portrait/couples/engagement shoots, and, my favourite time of year for them.
Greenwich Park, in all its glory, the perfect location for a stroll and a bit of time in front of camera. For me, when location scouting for some new and exciting places to photograph it is important to look to areas that have an abundance of variety. Locations like Greenwich Park are, to be brutally honest, in limited supply and that alone should be completely embraced. It can be a little disheartening for someone in my trade to ever feel that they have exhausted the photographic opportunities of a location, having to carefully plan a shoot to ensure you take advantage of the few limited photogenic spots that are available. That’s why Greenwich Park is one of my top “go to” locations for these types of shoot, every visit here opens up more vision and opportunities for awesome moments to capture. There is little restraint, and simply going for a walk here will inevitably lead to different ideas popping into my head as we go.
Leading us on to the best time to shoot at Greenwich Park. There is a lot to said for Spring and Summer….Spring especially! However, for total dramatic affect lets chuck on the coats and scarves (wellies optional but very cool for pictures) and head out in Autumn. Greenwich Parks look and vibe changes all year round and always looks superb in every season for varying reasons. But, those Autumnal colours and warmer clothing quite simply give a vibe to your images that can not achieved at any other time of year.
